Short answer: yes. He's also one incredibly good actor, able to make you really see the character he's playing, while all the time really seeing him, too. And he plays such a wide variety of roles effectively. Also, judging from the roles he has played, a very intelligent and compassionate man. I'm thinking specifically of "What's Eating Gilbert Grape?" and "Benny & Joon," although there are others, as well. He gets my vote for best actor of my lifetime, and I'm 59 years old. (Sorry, Richard Burton; you're a fairly close second now.)

Yes, he is! He is also a gifted actor. And he does not hate America; he compared us to a big dumb puppy because of our involvement in the Middle East. Many people, myself included, agree. Is he not allowed to have opinions just because he is an actor? Many good citizens disagree with the current administration. Also, FYI, he still owns a home in the US, along with his homes in France and the Bahamas. He likes Frace because he thinks it's a good place to raise his kids. Is that so terrible?

Not only that I think that he is one of the best actors of our time! It amazes me how he just totally becomes the character he is portraying. He just ha the gift.
