I used to start planning my work day while I was showering and getting dressed for work. Finish those plans while drinking my coffee, etc. Then when I'd drive to work I'd be polishing my plan. Finally, when I'd get to work, I'd work my plan. Driving home I'd start planning the evening half of my day. "Do I need to mow", or "Shall I wash the cars"? That sort of thing. ALWAYS, after the evening meal (which we ate at the dining table- as a family) I would sit with my family and discuss the days events. Or whatever came up for discussion. This was play time for us. No fixed regimen about what should be discussed. I might mention something interesting I'd heard in the news, or tell a funny story. But mostly we'd LISTEN to each other. The kids would have finished their homework by now, or I'd help them if they didn't understand something. Then they would shuffle off to bed, leaving my bride and myself alone to hold hands and talk. Until time to prepare for bed. Been doing this for 28 years now. The routine hasn't changed much. Most of the kids have left. Still have one- the youngest- at home. Notice one VERY IMPORTANT thing: NO TELEVISION!!! You can find your own solution. Just get in a routine. Use your brain to help prepare your day. Turn off the radio while driving and THINK. It becomes second nature to plan after you do it a few days. Stop running, running, running and pre-plan a little. You'll be amazed how much more productive you will become.

You can transform a bedroom closet design quickly, easily, and inexpensively by installing a modular closet system. There are many competing storage systems and products, so take a look at several systems before deciding.

There are two main types of do-it-yourself systems; those made of ventilation coated-wire components, and those made of solid particleboard components with a high pressure-plastic laminate.

Mixing solid-wood components with wire shelves and rod makes sense some cases, for instance…there are some items they want to look at and other they would like to store.
If you plan a system carefully, you can double the amount of storage area available.

It’s a good idea to have a few hooks but not too many or your closet will look messy. Slide-out drawers may not be worth the cost; simple and cheap shelving usually work just as well.

In addition to the usual bedroom closet design, think about under-the-bed storage, as well as under the eaves if you have attic space. But also think about smaller pieces like file cabinets, and freestanding storage.

A combination of drawers and cupboards, and open shelves with doors offers the most flexibility. In most cases the easiest way to plan is to start with a shelf or drawer unit somewhere in the middle. It often helps to divide a large closet in half or in thirds to make it easier to find things.

Always bring a planner along with you, store everything you have there, ie: bills, appointment cards...write along things you need to do. Write to do lists for things you need to do around the house, check it off as you go. You'll feel better knowing you've got all these things done :) At work, maybe do the same thing, always clean your desk so its neat and tidy and you can find things you need easily. For the house, on weekends, take a couple of hours just to decorate or tidy the house. Put books in one area, movies in another, thats an example. Put everything in organized piles :-D Hope you have a more organized life!!!

I can't promise you this is fool-proof, but make a schedule of things you MUST do. That way, you'll have some idea what you need to accomplish.

Simplify your surroundings: It's a lot easier to be organized when you're not cluttered up. For instance, dusting used to be a terror to me, until I got more shelving to help organize what I had more or less jumbled on my other shelves. Now it's easy and I don't have to nerve myself up to do it.

Get containers to help you organize your stuff.

If you have kids who are old enough to get up and play with their toys, then they're old enough to start learning to put them away too. Get them to help.

That's not much I know, but it should help. Good luck!
