Because reading and answering questions is interesting and helpful to those asking genuine questions. Your somewhat ill-informed question reminds me of my more ignorant (freshmen) university students that ask "When will we ever use this stuff?"

They have to dumb down to appeal to the mass majority.
Illiteracy is abundant. The majority simply rules.
It doesn't bother me.
I don't judge people on how smart they are.
