How do you deal with people teasing you about your name?

I've never really been TEASED for my name, but people always, like, make rhymes with my name and stuff. My name is Hope, so you can imagine...soap, dope, pope, etc., etc. And when I was in school and we would, like, read the word hope in stories or someone would say it, everyone would always look over at me. To tell you the truth, I didn't really mind...I liked the attention!

Try coming up with 5 or 6 dumb jokes about your own name. Then when other people make jokes, tell them how un-original they are, and give them alternate suggestions.

This will confuse the heck out of them.

ignore it, make fun of their name or something about them, or get people to use a cute nickname for you. but mostly don't listen to people who tease you about your name, they're stupid and not worth stressing about. (^_^)

You just have to learn to let it slide off your back, love.. I know, I know, it's easier said than done. But there is nothing else you can really do. There are ALWAYS going to be rude and obnoxious people wherever you go. You just have to train yourself to ignore them.
