Birth control pills can cause you not to have a period. There are some options on how you can use them. When on birth control pills, the period comes during the time when you are taking the inert pills.

You can get the Seasonale brand, which has three months of pills all packaged together, with a week of inert pills at the end of the package. If you are on other birth control pills, you can just throw away the inert pills at the end of a package and start on a new package of pills instead. according to my gynecologist, there is no real harm in throwing away the inert pills as long as you remember to take a regular (with hormone) pill everyday. You may want to speak to your personal ob/gyn about this.

There are Birth controls that can stop periods such as Depoprovera. This BC is injected every 3 months. However, there are also other forms of birth control that allow you to only have 4 periods a year, like Seasonal. But first and for most talk to your gyno about which one is right for you, and if no periods is even an option for you. You could also ask about continuous BC. That in tales taking only the active pills and skipping the period week, and starting a new pack. That however can have the result of break through bleeding.

Yes there's way's you can stop your period's but why would you want to do that. I know their no fun - but, that's just part of being a female - it's actually healthy for you to have a period every month - no matter how painful & irritating they are - that's part of the female organ's doing what their supposed to be doing - stopping them could and probably would do unnecessary damage to your body and female organs. Just deal with it - be a woman.
