Every thing fuel related is replaced other than the Fuel injection. It tries to start as long as I am cranking the key, I can even rev the motor. As soon as I let the key go back to the on position the motor dies but the instrument panel stays lit so I dont think It could be the ignition could It?

The ignition switch start position overrides signals the computer requires to allow your engine to keep running when you release the key to the run position. You have to have an oil pressure signal from the oil pressure sensor and a valid ignition signal. If the computer doesn't detect a valid ignition condition, it keeps the fuel pump relay from holding in so that you won't be pumping raw gas into the cylinders when there's no spark at the spark plugs. You need to make sure your ignition system is getting 12 Volts DC from the ignition switch in the run position and that you have all your ignition sensors (crank, cam etc) and ignition module outputs going in and out of your ECM (computer) properly. A shop scanner may help troubleshoot the problem.

So what are you saying? The car will start until you release the key? If you hold the key in the start position, it runs ok?
Thats simple, you have a bad ignition key cylinder. Replace the ignition switch and you should be good to go.
Good Luck...ron

the ignition module has the ballast resistor built into it.
the ballast function is bad. super, super common.

ps change the stator assy too, if you can.
(it's a bit more work.)
