what is the best free spyware detector?

my pc is currently infested with trojans and multitudes of spywares, malwares and adwares. I have downloaded spy doctor but the evaluation period expired and now the shameful malicious wares are camping on my PC. Please help.

Go here first and run the free online scan and removal. This is an excellent site and is very good at removing lots of Malware. Run the complete scan for Virus and Grayware(as they call spyware) and then remove all that it finds. First I recommend you have the latest Java version. It is version 1.5.0.7 Get it here and then remove all other versions in Add/Remove Programs.

If you are still infected Go to this site and follow the procedure she gives. She will have you download a couple of free programs and set them up and run them. Read the page completely and then do the procedure. After you read it, you will see why this is better than just running and trying to remove the Malware your way.

If you still have trojans after the above programs then go here and download ewido (free) and use it following the same procedure.

If any infections remain, write down the names exactly as listed by the program (slight variations in spelling can prevent finding the correct removal method for it). Type the exact name in the Google or Yahoo search and a list of sites addressing the specific infection will be listed Some require very specific methods and programs to remove them.

I know my answer is lengthy and is not the quick fix answer you are, probably, looking for. I used to be the same way until I got sick and tired of being infected. I finally followed anothers advice and went to that learning site. The old military saying of "You must know your enemy before you can defeat it" is never more true than the fight against Malware. I have now been infection free for 8 months. It's not a long time, but it is good for me.
