strikers gain more credit or popularity in football (soccer) for being scorers than goalkeepers stopping incoming shot?

Well...
I think they gain equal credit.
Football is a team sport for everyone but the goalie, kinda.
The outcome of the game depends more on the goalkeeper, I think, because every mistake counts big time.
A striker has to run more than a goalkeeper but both positions have to be aggressive. The strikers seem to be the "heroes" of the game because it is very difficult to get pass a strong keeper while it is easy for a strong keeper to guard the goal with their life.
In my opinion, the goalkeeper is the most important person on the team. I'm not just saying that because I play as a keeper though.

I think the strikers get more tv time and general exposure to the public overall, and that accounts for why they're usually more popular. They make amazing, agile moves that we can all see, whereas sometimes the goalkeeper is hidden by other players.
