If the piece was insured, call your insurance agent and give him the information you have. They should have an investigator take care of it. They can't count on the police all the time for just the reasons you faced when you called them. Crimes of violence have to take precedence with them, and rightly or wrongly, sometimes other things do, too, like busting pot-smokers.

Your case should be immediately filed in court because you have a valid complaint with 4 witnesses. It could have been filed on the same day considering that there is a probable cause that the suspect committed the crime. The investigation of the police is too long concerning your case.

You need to work at a donut shop to get the police to do anything. The Police dont solve crimes, and they are not understaffed

i know my ex broke into my house and stole my property and cut the rest up. well the "investigation" has been going on since october 2005 and is still going on. he actually just got charged after 9 months. but also they had proof he did it cuz he took the stolen propery to the police station when they called him. but they told me that we wont even go to court for another year. stupid huh. so i think it just depends on where you live and how their laws are but i would call them again.

As long as you are given a crime number off the police, which your insurance company require there is no need to rush.Sorry suicide bombers, murderers are more important.

It is now considered a "cold case." Just continue bugging them. I am not sure as to what the statutes of limitations on something like this is. I would sure ask them though.
