I love Babe Ruth but he was before my time. My favorite is Mickey Mantle who could hit a baseball further than anyone playing then or now! He also before his leg injuries and batting lefthanded was timed going from home plate to first base in 3.1 seconds which is also faster than anyone even playing today! The most gifted and most natural baseball player of all time!

My favorite player is Sacthel Paige because his final start he wsa 60 years old. He also had 64 consectutive scoreless innings. Sachtel made his first start at the amazing age of 38. In 1971 Paige was awarded with a trip to the Hall of Fame.

My favorite players at each position, I limited my choice to guys I have actually watched play...And post WWII numbers...No I didn't see "Stan The Man" play in 48 but he is my all time favorite Cardinal..I'll save pitchers for another time!

Vida Blue! He's the guy who turned me onto baseball and an A's fan. If you remember Fernandomania...or Nomomania...or even Fidrych's run, that's what it was like watching him pitch--electric!

Kind of ended up with a Dwight Gooden like career--shooting star but not a HOF career tahnks to drugs among other things but he'll always be my fave player of all-time.

Mariano Rivera, as a Yankee fan, watching this guy has been a great thrill for me in sports. This guy is mad calm, cool, and collected once he gets the ball. He also has established himself as the best closer in baseball history. Everyone fears him and respects him. He just got his 400th save. Also, in that Game 7 against the Red Sox back in 2003, he had the best performance by any pitcher I had ever seen in that situation. 3 innings of work with pure flawless pitching in one of the best games ever. Mariano is the best.
