I recently read all of the books by Osho. For me it offered some great insights into being happy and fulfilled in this life. If all living is about is making a living and we never seek out a more spiritual path (looking inward and really connecting with who we are and becoming more aware) how can we ever be truly happy? As a society we are all about being good consumers and working as much as we can and making money so we can have things.. but we never stop to see the real beauty in people.... it is great to be able to appreciate another person in the same way that you could appreciate a beautiful wild animal. We rarely look at each other in awe of the creations that we are and all the potential that lies in each of us.... it's sad....

I think people are interested in spiritual growth but don't feel they need to express it in an overt manner. It used to be that people were forced to practice a certain religion and they could be punished or killed for not. Now that people have freedom of religion, they (like me) prefer to be more "spiritual" than "religious". I do agree that our society subscribes needs to people that are not really necessary (eg. cell phones) and this results in the vicious cycle of consumerism. However, I think people have suffered financial and credit problems and are rethinking their values.

In my opinion, if they are not interested in their spiritual growth, they probably don't believe in a 'soul'.

And who is 'we'? Society? Our Society? Their are people, such as I, that feel very aware and I don't believe in people having or being 'souls'. I personally am truly happy because of conscience efforts and decisions I make in my life. I can't control others to be connected, spiritual and soulfull. But I do try to model to my children awareness, acceptance and tolerance. If I live that and I just don't talk that, I will make a real difference in others lives unconsciously or consciously.

I call this 'seeking out spiritual paths' and 'connecting' just living life pensively.

Cause Spiritual or whatever . ppl want to be happy. No one is perfect. Some ppl are set in there way because they are happy. There is not a person who is into drugs who is not happy. They just dont know that true happiness is eternal life. That is the job of the critian society in my opinion. Hope the anwer helps .... Good Luck keep growing closer to God.

Humans are egocentric. They do not believe in a Creator God. They are silly enough to believe in "big bang" or happenstance. They think they can solve all their own issues. Their sinful nature blinds their existence and connection to the Almighty. They refuse to believe they need a personal relationship with a Savior, Jesus, the Christ. They will not acknowledge their sins and ask for forgiveness and that personal relationship. As a result they blame all their faults and misdeeds on others, or the environment in which they were raised, or on the government, etc, etc. As you state they will not look outside of themselves and see the beauty God created and how He reveals Himself through creation and the beauty of the human existance. It is assinine to assume that we, as individuals, are all important and that we were put here to be happy "just because" and not realize that there is a peace, joy, and beauty available in our lives through Jesus and the Holy Spirit guiding our lives. I hope you have experienced the forgiveness of sins and have a personal relationship with Jesus yourself.

Not sure where the question is....but i didn't need to read a book in order to appreciate people and nature. But it's cool you found a "spiral" path. More power to you.

BTW, it's not wrong to appreciate human form! I very much appreciate the male form and show that appreciation to any willing male I find attractive!!! LOL.....there always willing.

Buddhism says, "Respect all life." I am not a Buddhist, but I really like that rule, but I think we have to learn through struggling and trials before we realize what is really important. A poet also said, "I have learned the important things last, which have made for difficulties." (can't remember his name but I liked the quote.) Experience is wisdom, and we will gain more spirituality through experience. :)
