Lets say i have a Computer that has Optical Drive : DVD±RW, 16x, Double Layer, Multi Format Drive on it. I can play DVDs, but now i am trying to burn a copy of some videos i downloaded onto a DVD+RW disc. How do i do this, what do i use, and do i need to download something that can, and if so, i need it to be 100% free and a non-trial offer. Do i use Windows Media Player and do i just put it in Data format, and if i do, will it play on a DVD player. The reason i am asking is because the file is large so i can't put in onto a CD R disc, and my friend who would like to watch it, can't use his computer because his computer is really old and it won't play Data.

I may have other questions, depending on your response.

About all i see on Windows Media Player is Data and Audio form, but not DVD format, unless putting into Data form onto a DVD±RW will allow it to play onto a DVD.

What you need is a program that will allow you to burn on to a DVD and it DOESN'T matter what the program is, it can be anything on your hard-drive or even another disk off of another CD-Drive as long as that disc is copy-able, i.e., isn't copy-protected so that you don't get errors during the copy process.

If you have dsl or better I suggest downloading a "trial" copy of Nero 7 or better. IT IS AMAZING. Just go to Yahoo! and search for "nero, download" and then install it. Try to get Nero 7.

It will make your CD/DVD Labels, Make your CD/DVD Movies, Copy DVD Movies, Copy DVD data (like your trying to do) and copy multitudes of other things and walk you thru all of them). Its extremely user friendly.

Good luck.

P.S. You can also go to Start / Programs / Accessories / Windows Explorer and open it. Then copy and paste the files you want copied from your computer to the DVD drive where YOUR COMPUTER will then COPY IT. Its much easier this way, but not nearly as fun! lol... Have fun either way. . .
