No, not the stadiums that I've been to. And no, it's not illegal. You buy the tickets online and just print them on your printer. Just make sure the barcode prints properly.

No, just show the tickets. They've never asked me for id.

You do not have to show your id. You have to remember the Pin# only. I have been to Shea and Yankee Stadiums and the did not ask for my id only my pin.
