How about the impact on oil prices of the number of crises effecting oil producing countries, or proximate to them? Israel/Hezbollah, Iraq, Iran, etc. Further, the effect of oil prices on various industries, direct and indirect effects.

You can try economic impacts upon military intrusion by another country - case studies could range from kuwait, iraq and now lebanon.
Impacts on exports, imports, suspension of economic activities, immediate non-miltary costs for these countries extra, will make your study an interesting read. There is a risk of broad beating and losing focus. so take care to choose a particular theme or hypothesis to go after.

The price of gas - how the wars in the Middle East are impacting gas prices all over the world. How can someone making $6.50/hour afford gasoline that is predicted to possibly grow to $5/gallon in the US? Or--- gas prices - how it is effecting the way consumers will have to change their habits.
