Ask a friend. Not all open houses are like that. There just a social get together. If you want to bring a present bring somethin like a plant. Or just bring a desert.

Nothing extravagant. A bottle of wine or a nice houseplant. If it's a trailer open house a six-pack of PBR will do.

Yeah so if you're broke, don't go.

Play sick. And stay home. OR not. But people will be looking at you like you're a cheap ***, and you will have to keep explaining that you're broke and you will get a gift later.


You're better off playing sick for that day!

They're not expected but it's consider poor etiquette to show up empty handed....nothing expensive just something that your host would like...a nice bottle of wine (if they drink it), an unusual plant for their garden (if you know their taste and condition of their garden)....even a beautiful pillar candle if they're into that sort of thing.
