It was OK. Some of the clothes for my son would have looked better on a girl

I had a lot of fun at all three of mine, but try to have it earlier in your pregnancy so you aren't too tired.
I kept a list of gifts (also helpful for thank you notes later), some photos and the results of the games (with the winners and the prize) for the baby books. Along with a napkin, a party favor and we glued the bows/ribbons from presents & packages to a stork cut out... It's neat for the kids to look back and see how much happiness they were anticipated with!!!
I got tons of stuff for the babies, but the best game was the bring a package of diapers for the door prize game. As people come in, they bring packages of diapers in various sizes (you can specify the brand if you like). Put a number on each one or write it on with a sharpie and give the guest a tag with the number or keep a list. Put the numbers in a bowl and draw a winner later in the party. They get the door prize & you get the diapers!!!!

It was kind of cheesy....it all ended up being elderly family members that came, not even my sister in law came, and only one of my friends. And they made me wear a silly hat. Got lots of stuff for baby. Some of it was silly frilly stuff that never got used though.
Look into a blessingway. It's a lot more honoring to a mother than a shower.

Thanks for asking...it was a LOT of fun!! We had it last weekend..the food was amazing (but I'm 34 weeks pregnant and ALL food is amazing to me LOL). We got a lot of wonderful gifts. I was really suprised, though....not many people bought off my registry...they just picked out their own stuff. Which was cool in itself...we got a lot of neat things.
Believe it or not, we have TWO more showers to attend (ahhh..divorced parents in competition...gotta love it).
I can't wait.
