my son's pediatrician had us move him to regular milk once he started getting the bulk of his nutrition from more "advanced" baby food and other solids, around 7 or 8 months. he was happy and healthy then and remains so now, 5 years later.

Won't kill her but better to go until the 11th month, then the first week cut the formula to 1/4 whole milk, 3/4 formula, in the 2nd week go 1/2 and 1/2, the 3rd week 3/4 whole milk and 1/4 formula and by the last week child has been weened off formula and should take the milk totally. Let's face it, formula has all the nutrients she needs, she won't know the difference in the taste if you never give her the milk. You say she loves it, but only you could have given it to her. Formula isn't that expensive for another 2 months. If so, then switch, but if you could swing the money it's better for her to have the formula. Good luck.

The doctors say....
They also say go with your instincts.
I can't say what's right, but my mother said, I was put on evaporated milk at nine month's old. I survived.
I mostly breast fed my babies. But I supplemented a few times with goats milk, when I got sick. I think it's better than cow's milk.
My last baby had reflux really bad from the start, so I gradually came up with this formula that she was able to mostly keep down.
Goats milk, formula and cereal mixed together.Right after breast feeding.
The doctor said about it 'Do what your instincts tell you. A mother's instincts are seldom wrong.'
And it worked.
She's fine today at 1 1/2.
I think you should just remember that cow's milk doesn't have all the vitamins her body needs.
You might want to just give it to her as a treat till she's a year. Or if your instincts tell you she gets enough vitamins from her food than go with that.
If you live here in the US the WIC is a good source of info too.
The lady above said 2% was OK, I was told that children need whole milk till they are two years old because they need the extra fat for brain development. Check that out more.
Adding liquid vitamins can upset a babies stomach.
Just remember to trust your instincts.

I have taken Human Development in school and it is not good to give a 7 1/2 year old whole milk because at that age they do not digest that well. It is better to wait until she is a year old. It is good that she is eating baby food but I would also be careful of that too. THe reason I say this is because before she is one she can choke so easily even on whole milk. Her system sometimes can not take it.

It's not recommended to give a baby milk until after the first year of life, for allergy reasons. Also, the formula has far more nutrients in it and she could find herself lacking if she is only fed whole cow milk as opposed to just formula. Remember that cow's milk is made for calves and not humans, so it's nutrient ratio is much different then that of human milk and formula. I know it can get expensive, but it's worth it for her health's sake to keep her on the formula and lay off the milk until she's older.

You are suppose to keep your baby on formula till they are a year old as recommended by the pediatrician.
You need to talk to your pediatrician
You are not suppose to mix formula and whole milk together, read the back of the formula can...it can be harmful to the child.

i've raised 6 kids this way and they are all fine, i stopped giving them formula around the same age although i deluted the whole milk the first two weeks, with half milk and half water, then after i saw that it was okay i gave the hole milk alone, whole milk is not food for a baby, yes you have to feed the baby solid foods more.

Doctors would like you to wait because it could mess a babys stomach up. But as long as she is still pooping then it's fine. My daughter wouldn't take formula after 7 months so I just put her on whole milk and she did fine.

Give her a whole milk bottle then formula. In other words rotate. Whole milk can make her constipated. By giving her both, she will be ok. You can reduce the formula as she gets older, then switch her completly by 1 yr.

She can have full fat milk as a drink now and again but do not replace her formula, she shouldn't stop formula till she is over a year old.
Full fat milk can be used in cookin etc from 6 months.
I personally wouldn't give it as a drink, if my son needs drinks in between formula and solid feeds I give him water.
The lady that said about the calicum in full fat v low fat is right but babies tummys are so wee they need as much from their food and drink as possible, even fats.
