I don't get it..really. it's a recepe for trouble. kids having kids...it's awful, and was everywhere at my old highschool.

I mean..do they think that everyone is having sex, so they should to?

I'm 16, and still a virgin and see nothing wrong with it. I'm responcible enough to kow that I'm NOT responcible enough for sex, and my bf feels the same way.

I just don't understand. there are so many risks involved it seems not worth it. I already have school to worry about..why add makeing sure I use protection, and keeping up with gyno visits to my list?

There are 12 year olds having sex! I just don't understand how it's come to that and why kids see it as a burden <> to keep thiere virginity until they are sure.

PS sorry for the spelling errors. I'm a horrible speller but there is no spell check for questions. thanks.

I agree with you 100%. I am mortified how teens act these days. They absolutely have no respect for themselves. Unfortunately, many don't realize that a baby is not the worse thing that can come from unprotected teen sex. HIV/AID is growing RAPIDLY in the 13-24 age group, (especially in the black female population). I was just reading statistics on the CDC web site, and it is estimated that 24% of sexually active teens in the US alone may have HIV and don't even know it. There is so much promiscuity that it is being spread like wild fire. Even those who think they are having "safe sex" are at risk. Condoms break, and/or slip off. Many think they are safe with oral sex, but don't realize that if you get bodily fluids, (semen) in your mucous membranes, (mouth) you can contract HIV. It's a real tragedy.

My son is 15 and has the same opinion as you and your boyfriend I only hope he retains this opinion throughtout the rest of his High school career and into college.
The main reason I think kids begin having sex so soon is because they are searching for love. Not a lover, just love. Either from their boyfriend/girlfriend or from the new baby that will result from this union. I know of girls in a high school I worked at that looked at being an unwed teen mother as an accomplishment, not a detriment.
It is so hard for kids having kids now days and I feel that they are so sheltered or un educated on the issue that they just dont realize what they are doing to themselves, their significant others and their own families. Generally these babies fall to the grandmother to help raise them because the child is unprepared or incapable of being a parent.
I have to applaud your idea of remaining a virgin at this point in your life because of the teen parent issues and the myriad of other issues that go with sex such as STD's and the like. Keep a strong attitude and stay with your ideals it will serve you well now and through your college career. Good Luck!

youthful woman i'm almost 70 now and that i have heard this for the reason that i changed into your age. it is not some thing new in any respect. youngster is the time for the sexes to advance and a lot is happening to little ones very rapidly. about the only distinction i visit be certain between many years in the past and now it that the children comprehend extra about sex; i do no longer recommend they do it extra. I recommend they look a lot extra proper counseled about the topic matters that comprise it.....a demanding time for most individuals. carry close in there and guard your self the acceptable you could.

I suggest not to try it. You can get pregnant, and yuour first time should be with someone you really love. I plan to stay a virgin till I'm married, and anyway, its part of my religion, b/c then if the girl gets pregnant, something might happen to the poor innocent baby. I know a 12 year old girl, and she had her baby 2 months ago. Its not worth it. Don't give in to it.

Honestly,I don't know.

Teens are always in a rush ot be grown aren't we?
Its degrading I say.

And guys look at every pretty girl and expect them to have sex....its happened to me...."you're too hot,I KNOW you arent a virgin"..

So degrading!
Just because when you become a teenager and you have a little more oppurtunities...I think us teens get a little to excited and think we can act as old as we want.

Some kids just havent been told enough times that sex can wait...

Luckily I can discipline myself, when I get tempted to do something stupid, and tell myself it isnt worth it in the long run...

most eens just arent strict enough on theirselves...
And teens watch alot of TV,which promotes alot of sex, songs on the radio can promote sex,and especially the internet.
TV,music,and internet...teens love it....
and its what they mostly do anyways so thats probably how it happens....

know what I mean?

No worries about the spelling...I'm a horrible speller, too.

Well...I guess you can read the last question I posted to get my answer to this.

It makes me want to cry to watch these children ruin their lives. It's awesome that you have thought things through and realized what's really important..being a responsible girl. Keep up the good work!

Because everyone on tv is having sex and kids think its so cool. But there are a lot of responsibilities that come along with it that they are not truly ready for. They are trying to take on grown up responsibilities to make themselves look more mature but it really makes them look trashy, to me anyway. Dont give in to the crowd and you will be the mature one. Sometimes its hard to go against the crowd.

I agree. I don't think the realize how much responsibilty that having a child is. It's not like having a hamster that you refill it's food and water a couple times a week and change it's beding once a week. It's something that needs your constant attention.

I think teens are curious, and want to do everything that their friends are doing, their hormones are raging, there's more acceptace of sex in the media, more revealing clothing styles and a lack of parents telling them it's wrong, these all contribute to the epidemic of teen sex.

Congratulations on your decision to not become sexually active until you're ready for it. Please tell your parents, they'll BUST with pride (trust me, I'm a mom!).
