No, its quite difficult to find the right foundation unless you are sure about your skin tone. For that you have to make an attempt to go to some good cosmetic retailers like Bay,Shoppers Drug Mart and Eaton Centre etc. They have professional cosmetic associates who would know better about the type of foundation you need. At the same time, you have many other brands to choose from and can also ask several other related questions as well. Its lot easier that way. So, be cool and stay as pretty as easy breezy cover girl.

Your name refers to "Latina"- do you have olive skin? If you do, you probably have blue (cool) undertone and Warm (golden) skin. Yellow and blue make green and that's why it's called olive! I suggest you match your foundation to your SKINtone and your other makeup to your UNDERtone. Go to the makeup counter of your choice and ask them to stripe foundation on your jaw or neck(Ilike the neck because then your face and neck will match and there's no line and nothing to rub off on your collar) Don't let them rub it in! With both warm and cool tones on there, step back from the mirror. The one that seems to "disappear" is the right one. Now, if you need a warm foundation, that doesn't mean a warm blush or lipstick. You want to match your undertone here. Rub a little "warm" blush on the inside of you forarm. Rub a little "cool" blush on the other. Hold them apart. Don't look at the COLOR, look at the skin AROUND the color. One arm will look bright, one will look gray or greenish(sallow). The bright one has the correct undertone. The wrong undertone will make you appear sallow or gray and can make you look tired. More than 80% of the population has cool undertones, so don't be surprised!

I've heard the L'oreal one isn't that great. (search for reviews online before you buy) I have both liquid and powder foundation and I find that the liquid covers a lot better. What did you apply the powder one with? If I apply the powder one with either a puff thing or brush it doesn't cover as well as if I do it with a sponge. It covers ok. I have revlon colorstay for combo/oily skin (liquid) covergirl simply powder foundation Powder is great for when your in a rush and don't want to take the time to apply liquid and get it just right. They both have pretty good staying power. This is the only powder foundation I've ever used but I feel that it's pretty good if applied correctly. The liquid one that I mentioned above is the best foundation ever!

Well all you need to do is ask a consultant at the counter or buy a shade that is close to what your skin looks like, if you want to bring out your undertones try a lighter shade of your skin with a pink it for a healthy glow

I've always heard the best way is to take a sample and spread it along your chin line. It should blend in perfectly. I've never tried that method, I just kind of experiment. You could go to the beauty section of a department store, and ask for professional advice. They're try and sell you their products, but hey, you can always say no, and at least that way, you'll have a better understanding of what you're looking for. So get the pros to point you in the right direction. Good luck!

If you are looking to determine whether you should go with warm or cool tones, I've always heard that you look at the skin on the inside of your wrist. It should either be on the pinkish side or the yellowish side. If it's on the pinkish side, go with a cool tone. If it's on the yellowish side, go with a warm tone.

You might have cool undertones if:
-You look best in silver jewelry
-You look best in jewel-toned clothing and pure white
-The veins on the underside of your wrist look purplish-blue

You might have warm undertones if:
-You look best in gold jewelry
-You look best in colors like orange, army green and off-white
-The veins on the underside of your wrist look greenish-blue

You can also be neutral, in which case you're scratching your head thinking, "I wear gold and silver jewelry, I wear white and off-white, and the veins on my wrist are just blue!"
