Swans, in the absence of sufficient numbers of swans of the opposite sex, will form same-sex pairs. One will adopt the behaviors of the other gender, and the pair will even attempt natural mating behaviors, such as courtship, and nest-building.

A pair of swans in central park in New York, known affectionately as "Romeo and Juliet", who have been together for years, but who's eggs have never hatched, were recently discovered to be a female-female pairing.

There are many species of animals reported over the past few decades where same sex experiences have been reported. There are even some species of parthenogenic lizards (22 species the last time I heard) where there are only females in the species and no males. They have a "unisex sexual reproduction" with only females. but the egg is not fertilized by another egg. It is an egg that starts developing into an embryo with the "stimulation" of another female who "postures" as a male, thus there is no added genetic material to the mother's egg. Thus the baby female lizards are like the mother who bore them, not the one who "was on top" and behaved like a male at the time of "coitus." So some might call these "lesbian lizards."

Animals don't really have the concept of "gay" and "lesbian"
They have the concept of "hey i'm in heat, who'll take me!?" or "i need to produce offspring! NOW!"
Or you could look at the Bonobo....they are always having some form of intercourse...between every gender, every other bonobo, for any reason....that's why you don't often see bonobo's in film
And I know there are certain fish that, in the absence of a certain gender, can actually change their gender...transexual animals, how about that!
And then there are animals like worms, that have both male and female sexual organs.
Nature's pretty wild...
