After 2 months of getting my HP Pavilion laptop computer, the letters on the keys began to rub off. I contacted HP and was told that wasn't covered and to buy new letters from World Language Resources. The letters were purchased, but didn't match my keypad letters at all. I waited longer, until a month before my expiration date and contacted them again. This time, they had me send it to them. After 8 business days, I hadn't heard from them and I called. They hadn't told me they wanted to now charge me $318 for repair. In the 25 years I've been using computers, I've never had letters come off the keys, nor the keypads become smooth and ridged. I do not have long fingernails, so this has to be a problem with the keypads themselves, a flaw on their side, not mine. No repair was made, since I refused to pay that exhorbitant amount. I'm extremely disappointed in their warranty and service!

although keys dont normally rub off, i have seen it before. But definately contact their customer service department at 800-752-0900.

Incidently what the $318 repair was for was to put in a new keyboard. a $20 part with $300 in labor.

Purchased a 6600 ink jet printer from hp December, 2012. I never open the system until March, 2013. The printer worked great until it ran out of ink. I purchased ink twice thinking something was wrong with the ink, but I discovered after talking to technical support that the printer had a defect, but the printer was still under warranty. I called the hp customer service number which connected me with someone in India in mid September, 2013. I was told to send in proof of purchase which I did. At the same time the hp representative in India asked for my credit card number before a new computer could be shipped to me. He then offered to send a shipping label. I have been calling since October 5, 2013 for the label. Every time I call a get a new hp ticket #8068974395 and #8069309380. What bothers me the most is how nasty the people are In the customer service department. I asked to be transferred to US customer service to no avail. I call information an got a number for the corporate office in NY. The individual in NY corporate office would not identify themselves by name and they were nastier than the people in India. I asked is this in the United States and she answered, "You can understand what I am saying so you know that I am in the US." How do these people remain in business? The CEO, Meg Whitman, said she is trying to make hp a less stupid company. Well she is not doing a good job! Everyone complains about immigrants coming to United States taking jobs but we export all our jobs to other countries. HP is the pits!

It is just a coincidence that you are facing such kind of issue. If the issue is with all the notebooks of same models then it would have been called back.
