Occationally, my ankles will get sore from this. It happens in the morning going up or down stairs and by the end of the night sometimes my ankle(s) is/are sore. I want to avoid any type of arthritis (obviously). I'm 26 and active, healthy, and open to any kind of treatment. I think this will continue to get worse as I get older and ware on my joints. What can I do to stop/alleviate this now so it doesn't get worse?

if you sprained strain or broke, or anything like that to your ankles then that will cause that and you will just have to deal with it for a couple years. Anyway try doing some resistance strengh training with your ankles like getting some of that thin rehab rubber band stuff and doing some exercises with that. When the muscles in your ankles are Strong you probably won't have these kinds of problems

Lot's of people have cracking ankles, they say it is lactic acid build up and harmless. But yours sounds troubling because sometimes they hurt, that is indicating you have something else going on. See a physical therapist or sports medicine Dr.

As long as they don't crack repeatedly it is neither. I mean, it does nothing positive or negative for your health, just moves around your knuckles a bit.

Help strengthen them and putting them into place by wrapping them in ace bandages during the day. Let them rest only at bed time. I use to have really weak ankles as a child and that worked for me.

Crack is a dangerous and highly addictive drug. There is help available. Please get help. We know that you can do it. Contact the local chapter of Narcotics Anonymous and get to a meeting, do it now.
God, grant me the Serenity to accept the things I cannot change. Courage to change the things I can and Wisdom to know the difference.
