I recently bought a new laptop and want to transfer all my music files to it from my old laptop. What is the fastest way to transfer approx 8GB of music...efficiently?

I have a firewire cable but I'm not sure if it can be used for transfer.
I'm also having trouble networking the 2 PCs together so unless I can figure that out, transfer through network is out.

the easy easy way is via a usb data transfer cable.

the other way is via rj45 cat5 crossover cable but this about the same, but both laptops would need to have network cards installed.
but i wouldnt advise this method.

you can use usb drives or external hard drives for this purpose. It will be fast. But if you are patient try connecting them wirelessly using bluetooth.

If you have writer then buy a rewriteable cd and burn it . 8 Gb would take around 10 burns. You can even burn a 4 Gb dvd if you have a dvd rom . which will make you two trips.
