XXXXXXXXXXXX My daughter was 2 1/2 before she could really talk and now I can't shut her up. As the saying goes, She'll talk a hole in your head. And talk about perfect English. She was born to be an English professor. lol.So don't worry. She's growing normailly. Remember every kid is an individual. You can't judge them on the progress of anyone else. XXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXXX

Well...every baby is not the same...they have different processes of growing, some grows faster in terms of talking but slow in walking, or some walk earlier but still can't talk that much...
I was a preschool teacher, once I had a 3yo boy who couldn't talk a single word correctly, but he understand everything perfectly, he is also smart and knows more number and alphabet symbols than any of his friends in class...
So don't worry that much...the progress is not always the same with each baby...if it's still bothering you you might want to check out with a doctor about it...
But if she knows and understand what you're talking, she's not deaf and most likely just has slower progress in talking...try to talk to her as much as you can and involve her in any conversation with more people in it...babies love stimulation...being with more people who talks a lot can be a good stimulation for her too...good luck!

If you and Dad are speaking two different languages that could be part of the problem. Pick one for her to start with then add the other in 5 years or so. You may want to consider taking her to a doctor, maybe get her hearing checked. She may be hearing but not clearly.

All babies are different and will talk/walk, etc. at different times. Since she understands what you are saying to her, I would not worry much about it. Plus, unless her pediatrician thinks that is something wrong, do not worry as she will talk when she is ready. My son is 18 months and never says "mom" even though he knows how to.
