Hands down the South. People criticize them because they think their accent uses too many slang words. They may use slang words, but in terms of political correctness its the South. One user had stated "the North is more educated" which is completely false. The South is not only raised on basic education but they are knowledgable on education of the streets and the real world. Most big time executives come from...the South. Most big name bands come from...the South. Not only does the South have better english, they also know how to speak to elders. Northerners are predominately stuck up and snobby.
And I was born in the North.
But I live and have my heart in the South. So I've seen both for quite some time.

North. People in the South, like in Texas, talk incorrect and with a weird accent.

North, because a lot of people in the south seem to have an "accent" so, for example, northeners say "you all" while some southerners say "yall" which isn't correct. So north.

I would say the north would speak better english, us people from the south talk more country and use southern slang. We tend to make up our own words. But our southern slang is understandable.

I was originally from the north and they spoke English there in crisp but understandable words.I now live here in Tennessee and they draw their words out or use other words instead of actual words. So I think northern people speak better English than do southern people. But I do so love the people here better because they are so much more friendlier.

Even though I live in Texas, I have to say the North (sorry!). If any of you live in Texas or the South or Southwest in general, you'll know why. And I'm not necessarily talking about the rednecks. Our "amigos" who are "immigrating" need a little more help with their "ingles".
