your kitchen sink and bath tub share a common line
the blockage in the line will only get worse....
i do not recommend any chemicals EVER they rarely do want the say on the bottle and are dangerous to you and your plumbing system
snake the drain from under the kitchen sink with a 3/8 inch cable machine
you don't have to buy one ....you can rent one at most tool rental locations
if you are not handy with tools and plumbing call a plumber

You can rent a drumsnake. It is a manual snake for drain cleaning. Take the head of the snake and put it down the drain until you hit the stoppage. Turn the handle which will have the coil penetrate the stoppage. repeat the process until the drain is clear. I pour dishwashing liquid down the drain with hot water when im finished snaking my drains. every now and then pour a little dish washing liquid down the drain especially before you wash anything greasy. avoid using drano and and drain cleaning crystals completely

If you have a septic tank system, your tank my be full and need to be pumped. Although disgusting, this is a simple and inexpensive procedure.

If you're on sewer, than I bet there's some obstruction from where your water lines leave your home and enter the sewer causing a slow drain.

Your main line is clogged. This happened to my mom. The plumbers had to go on the roof and get a snake down the main line and extracted the clog...which turned out to be a bunch of tampons b/c she and I and my sister just happened to get our periods at the same time this month. But that's probably TMI.

Do you have a septic tank??? If so it needs pumped. If you dont try runing some draino or other drain opener down your sink.

Sounds like you have a major clog somewhere between your house and your septic tank....better check it out....your toilet can back up into your other drains and you certainly dont' want that.

you need to either buy an electric snake and run it through the pipes, or call a plumber and have them run an electric snake through the pipes. you have a clog in your pipe.

It shouldn't cost more then 30-75 dollars depending on where you live (in cities, like the tri-state area, nyc, nj, ct. it goes from 50-75; I believe it's alot cheaper in rural areas though)
