Vercingetorix without a doubt. Being of Celtic/Germanic heritage it isn't a hard decision to make. Family loyalty is one of the things that means the most to me. I may not always like my family but I always love them and will stand by them no matter what.

Logically, Caesar would win, so siding with the Gauls is futile. But, on familial morality, my ancestry is probably part Celtic, and I know of no Italian heritage in it, so I would be inclined to side with the Gauls, but, still on morality, I don't know enough Celtic history to say that the Gauls were better kept independent, looking at it from a global perspective. A lot would depend on the probable aspirations of the Gauls of the time.
If I had to choose, I would pick Gauls. That choice could change.

If, with the aid of some stretch of the mind's eye, the Roman Empire had existed in the 20 th century the war could no longer have handed off. not one of the western allies could have existed – France and Britain have been area of the empire, u . s . a . of america could have been chanced on and colonised with the aid of Roman matters. with the aid of fact empires, to exist, ought to boost Germany and Russia could have been subsumed into the empire in the 1500+ years with the aid of fact the actual destruction of the empire. There are some actual misconceptions on the subject of the Roman Empire right here, it exchange into no longer a Republic or democratic it exchange into an Empire with an autocratic Emperor (the clue is in the call), even whilst Rome exchange right into a Republic it exchange into no longer democratic, the ruling type that produced virtually all senators have been, in effect, an oligarchy.

Being of Irish and German descent, I would have joined up with the ill fated Vercingetorix.
