In it there were two characters who were animals...one was a bear. And the bear had a toy penguin called Guideon. The main charcters went for a walk in the snow and Guideon got dropped, lost, and ultimately RUINED. Learning the concept of "ruined" when I was four was my first encounter with the concept of death and I remember the gist of the story to this day. The other charcter got out her sewing kit and make a new Guideon for her friend. Does anyone else remember this book or know its title? Or how I could track it down?

You might be able to go to a library and explin it to the librian and they might know what it is called and where you might get it. Good Luck. I personall never heard of that one. and I love stories about animals and fairy tales .
