I am presuming you are wanting the Kansas Statute relating to either Assault and/or Battery.

K.S.A. 21-3408 defines the crime of Assault. "Assault is intentionally placing another person in reasonable apprehension of immediate bodily harm. Assault is a class C person misdemeanor."

K.S.A. 21-3412 defines the crime of Battery. "(a) Battery is:

(1) Intentionally or recklessly causing bodily harm to another person; or

(2) intentionally causing physical contact with another person when done in a rude, insulting or angry manner.

(b) Battery is a class B person misdemeanor. "

A class B or class C misdemeanor can result in signifant jail time, depending on the circumstances of the offense.

If you are charged with these offenses, you need to retain an attorney. If you don't have an attorney, and can't afford one, then inform the court and they will appoint an attorney for you. If you are denied, then consult your local or state bar association for a referral
