there was a service that would leave a message saying if you want to answer this call just sign off or ignore and continue to work and it would take a message

I have SBC yahoo DSL and it uses the same line as my phone, so u would not have to worry about missed calls and u can surf the web while talking on the phone.

just change to dsl wireless service and you can stay on the computer when the phone rings.........answer it and or talk on it.....or let the machine TAKE the message...........

or get a seperate phone line for the internet.......

Just tweak with IE's options or else goto broadband. You can both internet and telephone simultaneously. No need to stop one for another.
Also, activate call waiting feature on your telephone to get beep.

you need to get DSL or Cable internet. Why are you still messing around with Dial-up? it's so 90's

you need a different server.....I have cable internet, no effect on the phone whatsoever

you mean you cant asnwer the phone when you are in the computer.if you cant get broadband
