Ok. If a child was born on a boat, in international waters, where would its technical birthplace be? I'm NOT talking about citizenship, I know it would be whatever the parents are. I mean, what would it say on the birth certificate for birthplace?

If the mother gives birth while flying from Texas to Minnesota, and the baby is taken off the plane in whatever city it lands in - that is considered the place of birth, but the birth certificate has to say that the child was born in a moving conveyance. So, I'd imagine if a baby was born on a cruise ship, but docks in Miami and taken off the ship, Miami would be considered it's birthplace. That is where the birth certificate has to be filed.

there was a person a while ago that, that happened to. it was in some ocean and the mother was on a cruise, the child was born early. The news only follows a story for so long so I don't know what the child birthplace was put down as. I assume it was just the name of the ocean or the cruise liner.

International Waterways are still marked and considered responsible by a Country, or State. Example: Would be the longitude / latitude. There are some exceptions. You can go on the web site of The United Nations.

Wouldn't it be from where the boat is from?
For example when I flew from US to Mexico on a Mexican owed airplane the Mexican laws were in effect such as I was 18 and I was legal to drink even though I was in US air space.
