That's a hard question because all music is related and every band draws some kind of musical influence from other bands and solo artists. I'd have to say my favorite would be Evanescence. I also love Coldplay.

Modern - Tool
Classic Rock - Pink Floyd, The Who, The Doors, or The Beatles (hard choice)
Progressive - Rush or Yes (hard choice)
Classical - Beethoven
