in baseball alot of players get injured,why dont teams sign 6 starting pitchers.why dont teams get more hitters.they know someone is going to get injured,that way that team is good even with injuries?

There's only a limited amount of space on the rosters. Teams carry 24 players, but they have minor league teams where they can get players in case some get hurt.

I'm not sure if I understand. Teams have to play within MLB rules...and yes the league could vote to expand the roster...but then they would have more overhead...why not use the farm system and call up a questionable pitcher. The talent level in the MLB is already watered down...to have a sixth pitcher who won't pitch because the optimal time between starts is 5 days...doesn't make sense. Teams have plenty of hitters in the minors to draw from.

Where are you going to put them, you only have a 24 man roster. Big league calliber players aren't going to play in the minors and wait around for someone to get hurt. That's a stupid question.

Budget and salary restriction. They don't want to pay a bunch of guys that probably won't play.

They do stock up....it's called Triple A.
