Maybe we should so everyone could have a look and see what we're facing if we do heinous crimes. And why have most states turned to soft lethal injections.Let's get back to Public hangings and crucifictions, maybe that will straighten some of these criminal dopes out in our society.

The silly part is it would, most certainly, turn the public off to capital punishment if people saw how much a criminal might suffer in death. What if he was discovered to be innocent after the fact???

The powers that be know better than to show you the criminal's suffering. It would "humanize" them. And that's just not good for business- or elections.

If you really like to see people die horribly why don't you just join the military? Then you can see whole families raped, tortured and killed. Hell, there's a chance you won't ever come home and you would get to see it for the rest of your life- you good little patriot you!

The Bleeding Hearts cried too much to it had to be stopped.

When Sharia comes to the USA they, islam, will probably follow the Saudi Arabia model.

Each Thursday a huge blue tarp is unrolled in the city square.
Four or more males and females are beheaded in public.
Everything gets mopped down-- the blue tarp is rolled up...and everyone goes home until the next Thursday.

1) It's brutal
2) It cheapens human life
3) It can traumatize children
4) It appeals to sadists
5) It coarsens culture.

The reason public whippings were stopped is because people realized they did no good - they have no deterrent effect whatsoever. Neither does the death penalty, for that matter. People who kill usually think they simply won't get caught, or they're so impulsive they don't think at all. I'm not arguing against the death penalty per se. If society wants to use it to get revenge, that's one thing. But people are kidding themselves if they think it is a deterrent.

Too brutal. We'd rather go to the movies and see it done -- least it is just computer generated. But public executions still exist in part of the Middle East. Go there if you want to see one.

Name one country that is better off today because of public executions......The USA had public executions but it was stopped by legislation....No country is a better country because we can watch people being hanged, shot, or set on fire. Do you agree?
