Answering a question with a question is a well worn psychiatry trick. It elicits a response or rebuttal from the person who asked the question. It also helps that person understand the tone of the question and why they asked it. Obviously it gave you a rise as you asked another question. That is how conversations start.
On the flip side of the coin, some people tend to be overly sensitive and may have taken your question to heart or misunderstood your intentions. It's human nature. You can choose to ignore those answers.

i think people either thought ur question was dumb or u got so wordy about it that u sounded too intense. hence the wacky answers.
