There a multiple muscles attaching to your scapula, or shoulder blade. The largest one on your back is the trapezius. It runs from the top of your neck down approximately half of your back and attaches pretty much along the top of your shoulder blades. It is also the most superficial, or closest to the surface. If you flex, you can see it. Smaller muscles that attach to it are the supraspinatus, infraspinatus, teres major, teres minor, and subscapularis, and they all run from the scapula to the humerus (top of your arm bone). They're deeper and not visible and are stabilizing muscles. Your levator scapulae attaches to your scapula and up into your neck. Search google images to see the location specifically of any of these muscles. Hope this helps. :-)
