Yes. It's not easy negotiating with him. And he does get his clients good money, no wonder they hire him.

Boras isn't the REASON players get the most money, but he has a reputation of getting the best deal for his clients.

From what I've read, a lot of teams hate dealing with him. A lot of teams have publicly said they won't draft a Boras player in the first round of the draft because he is all-too-willing to have them sit out a year.

He also pushes hard in contracts to get players called up quickly. This is a double-edged sword - it allows players to qualify for free agency quicker - but it also hurts their development if they are rushed to the big leagues before they are ready. (Todd Van Poppel is an example of a pitcher who was rushed to the bigs WAY too soon and didn't get a chance to develop as he should have in the minors).

Even though I'm going to be the odd man out here i must say that the owners must take some share of the blame for the current insane contracts that teams pay for. If you look back you will see that players for many years were grossly underpaid, they were the product everyone came to see, and they were payed peanuts compared to the revenues that the teams took in. If you look at the money that the game generates you will see it is in the billions of dollars and the players are just getting there share. And on top of that no one is holding a gun to the head of the owners, they pony up the money willingly.

Scott Boras has done more damage to the game of baseball than anyone - even Bud Selig.

It's no wonder that several teams won't even deal with his clients.
