i am Puerto Rican but i am not "ghetto". It is a sad stereotype . And it is sadder to see that in USA many believe that we all are "ghetto". If you really knew our culture, you would discover many wonderful things . Distinguished Puerto Ricans like Eugenio Maria de Hostos, Rafael Cordero,Francisco Oller, Luisa Capetillo, Jose Campeche, Mariana Bracceti, José de Diego, Antonio Corretjer, Julia de Burgos, Pedro Albizu Campos and many many more have left a positive mark on our culture.
I don't like the words "Hispanic" or "latino" because it is a label that has been imposed on many different nationalities like Cubans, Mexicans, Argentinians,Chileans, etc in order to put them in one single group.
