I've written for them and done other work with them too, you don't know what I do in my personal life so don't pass judgement!!

Although I greatly enjoyed "Dookie" when it first came out (at the time I was listening more to the Mighty Mighty Bostones, the Seattle scene, and partially still holding onto the 80's rock of Van Halen and such) I'd really have to say your latest effort (American Idiot) is my favorite disc. Concept albums have to be extraordinarily tough to hone and craft (as seen by how few actually make it out of the studio), and I'd have to put this up with Tommy, Operation: Mindcrime, and The Wall. You can enjoy the CD as a story set to song, or just enjoy each song on its own. I wouldn't advise trying to make another one as it may make your brain implode, but I think the level in which it was written, organized and produced was spot-on.
So, my opinion would be to just keep branching out and trying new things. Either that or cover Dean Martin's greatest hits. Either way, you can't go wrong.

Fulfillingness' First Finale or Talking Book by Stevie Wonder, or any album by Steely Dan, or Thriller maybe.

I have to say the newest one. First Cd that my kids ( 9 and 4) and i can listen to together. We can sing along and my son will ask me questions about the content of songs which leads to political and current affairs questions. It is pretty cool.

I would have to say 1039/smooth... The newer stuff is too much pop... It made me sad... A.I. wasn't somthing you would expect from Ya'll... Still in a neutral point of view it was good...
