No, but it depends on the pregnancy test.
Most pregnancy test can detect 'pregnancy' after a month of conceivement.
But some tests, more expensive of course, are more sensitive and can detect 'pregnancy' earlier.
If you took a pregnancy test 2 weeks after having sex and got a positive I'd advise you to go to the doctor's, of course...

I found out with all my pregnancies (pregnant with baby #4) before I missed a period. On my 2nd and 3rd pregnancies I knew 5 days before I missed it. It all depends on your body and how much of the pregnancy hormone you have.

usually it is too early before you miss a period - it takes time for the pregnancy horomone to build up in your system so the test can read it - the early response tests are designed to be used 5 days before a missed period, but that is the earliest I have heard of

It depends. Some girls earlier and some later. Many girls are happy to detect the HCG change as early as 6 dpo but end up with sad miscarriage. So for me the later the safer. Best of luck.

this probably means you were already pregnant... you can still have a period and be pregnant. Whoever you humped on last month might be the dad...
