I heard that it is good for hyperactive children to play violin. I want to know if it is true and why

URGGH! Hyperactivity is not caused by boredom. It is caused by chemical factors but it can be alleviated to some extent through music. As far as instruments, remember to make it an instrument that is going to be relatively easy to learn to play as hyperactive kids tend to become distracted easily and if the instrument is difficult to learn they will quickly lose interest. Also, you might want to consider your tolerance level as well as that of your neighbors. What instrument do you want to hear played a lot. Unless you've got a very big house or a garage, make it something that isn't too loud or abrasive. The piano is great or guitar depending on the age. But I'd certainly avoid the tuba, trumpet or drums.

ANY instrument is just fine. There is no "best". It is true and that is because most hyperactivity is caused by BOREDOM. Music is extremely difficult and challenging, especially to the smarter kids. They enjoy the challenge.

Yes, Piano, guitar, whatever, let the child choose. However you may need to afford lessons.

yes, i think its true because it gives them something they can focus on- let him or her try several instruments and choose the one he/ she likes best because if they dont like it, they'll lose interest and will get sidetracked
