My fiance and I are thinking about opening a pagan/occult store. What should be have in the store? Where can we find distributors for the items we need?

I suggest if possible making a room in the back where you can give classes (Wicca 101, tarot, etc), invite tarot readers in on certain days to offer readings, or just a nice place for people to sit together and talk. Also, think about offering open full moon rituals where people gather at your store each month. These things will attract people to your store.

Think about it this way...your store needs to make money, reguardless of how much you enjoy running your shop, you need to pay the bills.
Pagans/Wiccans often practice in groups/covens. True many pagans are going to have their own altar and their own tools, but for the most part, they are not going to be as rabid about aquiring more.....more books, and more tools, as say....a ceremonial magician....C$ha--c$hing !! :)
Here is my recommendation. Carry all the usual stuff, athames, wands, pentacles etc. , but also keep an inventory of items that would prove usefull to a ceremonial magician. If there is one thing about pagan/occult stores that is annoying, its misrepresentation. The store-front sign usually reads" Pagan-Occult ", when in fact it should read " Wiccan-Crowley " .
Books-usually the bread and butter of most pagan/occult shops. Great! Books are great, but please dont offer me something I could walk into Barnes & Noble or Borders and pick up for a couple dollars less.
I could work up a mock list of stuff/inventory I would carry if I were to open a store: let me know!

As there's too much branching off of every original practice, I'd first recommend books true the practice & culture - especially with wisdom about that way of life.
It's more dahrma for you to not supply those whom are after power or vain excitement.
For example, this growing variety of tarot now weakens & taints readings with fantasy & bias.
......there's a lot I could say, but it comes down to what will fullfill your higher aspirations - what affect do oyu want to have upon people?
Write me if you'd like other insight.
