like i'm watching a baseball game right now and they just won't shut up. its like they have to talk and talk and talk....i put it on mute so i can't hear them. they do this during football too but not as bad. but i still mute it depending on who it is....cuz half the time they don't know what they are talking about.

Yes, I watched a game yesterday and they drive you crazy with stupid talk. Or in the middle of a player batting they'll cut to talk to someone in the stands and you miss part of the game. The game doesn't seem to be as important to the announcers as hearing their voice talking about stuff that happened 50 years ago.

I think a lot of people share that view. I can understand all of the blah blah when someone is doing a radio baseball game but when its on TV there is no need to describe so much. Most announcers alternate between both radio and tv during the same game and some don't seem to realize that its different and that we can see everything. Also, you might mean those who go on and on with canned comments and who has heard a game when some announcer doesn't tell the story of someone from the ghetto who was raised by their mom and struggled so much and then the next year the guy is holding up liquor stores or beating the crap out of women. Too much commentating in baseball games!! The game is the drama, you don't have make up little stories as though you are doing the E network.

If you can get the game on the radio, mute the TV, and listen to the play by play on the radio...

The commentators should be talking about the play, unless not much is going on...Sometimes their stories are interesting, but they ARE there to announce the game being played!

Ok...this drives me crazy especially when they're talking nonsense. Biggest offenders that I've seen are Jon Miller and Joe Morgan of ESPN and Al Leiter from YES. Miller is clueless and Morgan is a bore. Leiter goes over and over a point until he beats it too death. If the announcers are saying something intelligent and informative, I don't mind. I think a good pair of announcers would be Jim Kaat and Tim McCarver, they're both good and knowledgeable baseball guys.

Fox is the worst. I am dreading this afternoon's game, it's not just that they won't shut up... they talk about other games at great length and not about the game you're watching. They are so dull that they can put you to sleep. I love watching my Red Sox with Remdawg and Don.

Yeah, they talk about everything but the game. It sounds like there are on drugs or something.
