It's probably due to the heat. Your blood and fluid volume goes up tremendously during pregnancy and with the heat, it can go up even further.
To be on the safe side, call your doctors office, let them know what's going on. They may want to have you come in for a quick check to be sure it's not something more serious.

Retaining fluids is really common when you are pregnant this was the thing that bothered my the most. Try cutting out the salt in your diet and don't forget the sodium you are getting in prepared foods. You may be surprised how sodium is in beverages, I just loved V8 while I was pregnant and thought this was a good source of vitamins and it was except it had a crazy amount of sodium. Get in the habit of checking every label. If this gets worse or is really painful make sure to bring it up at your next OB visit. One other thing I did was make sure to wear shoes that would stretch with my feet as the day went by. I actually had to buy some men's leather sandals that had Velcro fasteners so I could let them out by month 9. Good Luck and congratulations on your upcoming addition.

Yes, it's very common. Reduce sodium, drink plenty of water with a few slices of lemon to help with the water retention. Cucumbers and watermelon are also very nutritious natural diuretics. Put your feet up when ever possible, and keep a close watch on your blood pressure. If it's up over 135/85 definitely call the Doctor. Severe cases of Edema can definitely be a symptom, (or cause) of gestational hypertension. In a worst case scenario this could lead into preeclampsia.

It could be normal edema However it could mean there are health issues to worry about. You should definitely call your doctor just to be sure. Your doctor can run a test to see if you have protein in your urine to rule out toxemia and check your blood pressure to make sure it's not too high. Most women develop edema in pregnancy at some point when their hands and feet swell. Be sure to get off your feet often and put them up at the end of the day and drink plenty of fluids.

I am not certified in OB or any of the sorts, but I do believe the more salt you consume during your pregnancy the more water you retain aka swollen hands/feet. During my pregnancy I watched my sodium intake and I never had swollen anything except for well my breast but thats different.
If it's really bad maybe try calling your Ob/Gyn to put you at ease.
