What ho! Friar Tuck! Bring me my bow forthwitdh!
Honestly...I never even came close to the level of archery I ever thought I'd want to achieve. I never tried the professional stuff. Nor compound hunting bows. Just the old high school stuff.
Never any good. I can tell you this. Archers were the elite of the medieval military. If I had been alive then I'd be better off mixing a pot of pitch than shooting arrows.
Keep with it. Its a great sport that only a few can master. Good luck.

yeah, especially studying the history of its use in warfare. did you know what was the first thing to make an able-bodied, and armed spartan army surrender? it was a detachment of argonaut archers... for hundreds of years, what literally hundreds of thousands of some of the best soldiers in the world couldn't do, a few hundred of what many previously considered marginal soldiers were able to do! the argonauts did what the presians, egyptians, athenians, dacians, thracians and scythians weren't able to... with a two to three hundred bows and about a hundred arrows each the argonauts forced the proud spartan army to lay down their arms and surrender in humiliating defeat.
so yes, i do like archery... as a sport and as a part of military history.

It's a wonderful sport, I've become quite good at it since learning breath-control to calm my aim...my competition bow is quite expensive but well worth it...it's nice receiving awards for placing or winning competitions.

Love it.
I was pretty good at it myself a long time ago.
The highlight of my archery career was getting pointers from Darryl Pace. (My coach was one of his best friends.)

I do, I like the way it sounds when it goes through the air and hits the target. Its fun to aim and hit the bulls eye.
