I have the same problem. I've come to accept that if I want to avoid mosquitos coming from surrounding states just to suck my blood, I have to wear insect repellant. There are several brands that don't smell bad and are effective.

OK, mosquitoes...
prepare to be repelled!!!!!
Use Bounce Fabric Softener Sheets...Best thing ever used in
Louisiana...just wipe on & go...Great for Babies
Bob, a fisherman, takes one vitamin B-1 tablet a day
April through October . He said it works. He was right.
Hasn't had a mosquito bite in 33 years. Try it.
Every one he has talked into trying it works on them.
Vitamin B-1( Thiamin Hydrochloride 100 mg.)
If you eat bananas,
the mosquitoes like you, - something about the banana oil
as your body processes it.
Stop eating bananas for the summer and the mosquitoes
will be much less interested.
This is going to floor you, but one of the best
insect repellents someone found (who is in the woods
every day), is Vick's Vaporub.
Plant marigolds around the yard, the flowers give off
a smell that bugs do not like,
so plant some in that garden also to help ward
off bugs without using insecticides.
"Tough guy" Marines who spend a great deal of time
"camping out" say that the very best mosquito
repellant you can use is
Avon Skin-So-Soft bath oil mixed about
half and half with alcohol.
One of the best natural insect repellants that I've discovered
is made from the clear real vanilla. This is the pure Vanilla that is sold in Mexico. It works great for mosquitoes and ticks,
don't know about other insects.
When all else fails--get a frog
Fight West Nile...pass this along to
all your friends in skeeter land!!!

It sounds like you are allergic. Mosquitos have to inject a substance into your skin so the blood coagulates, so they can suck it up. I, too, am allergic. The only thing that helps me is putting clear fingernail polish on the bite. This stops oxygen from getting into it, and it will clear up relatively quick. It also helps with the itch. And, try eating dill pickle slices (or take vit. B12). Mosquitos hate the blood with this in it.

To avoid mosquito bites ....do this simple thing...
You won't believe it works...but it does...
Buy yourself some 'Bounce' fabric softener sheets...
Take one of the sheets and rub on your ankles, arms, etc. then if you are a woman stick it in your bra...or tie it to your belt loop...etc...mosquitoes will not bite you or even come near you....this has been tried while working in garden...around shrubs, water, etc.
Once you are through with the Bounce sheet use it in your dryer...then save it to clean your shower stall from soap scum...

I am a mosquitto magnate myself. Apparetly it's because I lack vitamin B, which makes my blook extra sweet. Maybe you should take vitamins and eat more food that are rich in Vitamin B.
