first, ignore the opinion that time is an artificial construct of humans. time is real. space is real. the universe is seen to be understandable only with the intermingling of space and time. haven't you ever heard anyone quote "time is nature's way of keeping everything from happening all at once"?

second, i don't know why we perceive time as passing, and it seems that no one else does either.

Time is the result of irreversible changes that occur at the Planck scale. Picture a single electron in a box - if you were to look inside the box one a second, once a week, or once a billion years, you could not tell the difference. That is because there is nothing to change in a manner that cannot be undone.

Now, put a few particles in a box, and you will find that they interact and create new states that can sometimes change in a way that is permanent or cannot be undone. Think of particles forming an atom that then undergoes radioactive decay. Then you cannot take them apart to get your original particles back. This is entropy.

In the universe, there are so many more particles and so many more states they can be in, that irreversible changes happen all the time. We experience those changes and call it time. This is also why time runs forward only, and how it is tied to entropy.

Bad grammar hurt brain.

Time is not an object, living or inanimate. Time is a complex mathematical equation created by man used to track the passing of solar cycles. Sorry for my comment about the uh, grammar thing. Time does not run, time does not even exist in my opinion. Time is just used to track the passing of events and solar cycles.

you must know that everything is changing and the scientists have discovered that the time is getting more shorter. The days in old times were more longer than it is now. I still do not know way it's happening but it could be the cause of the changes that are happening right now in our planet and in the universe, you know that the universe is not staying still, now it's growing making planets, suns, galaxies etc. farrier to each other. Time is always in the rush
