Yes. For example, I saw a documentary about animal testing where a scientist was defending torturing monkeys just so scientists could know how they would react to different levels of torture. That was so sick, it made me want to puke.

Another example would be the knowledge the Nazis gained by experimenting on people in their death camps.

I believe that the pursuit of knowledge for it's own sake can be dangerous to ones own self interests. For instance, I'm agnostic, because I've come to a series of logical conclusions. But as I look at the world and have come to conclusions based on my lack of a specific faith, I find myself wondering whether or not there is really a significant reason for continued existence. By discovering truth, sometimes we as human beings are inevitably lead towards things that are less than benefictial for us.

In a sense, I wish I were Christian, but as a thinking entity, I can't just decide that I am: our beliefs and knowledge is not something we consciously realize. While the power of the subconsciousness to accept and reject individual bits of information and reality is powerful, it is still our subconsciousness: to force a conscious decision upon one's subconsciousness to avoid the "mistake of truth" (a truth of ambiguity anyway) requires external help...

yes, but not for general reasons...it would be totally conditional. for example, there are things u don't want to tell children until they have matured enough to truly understand and act properly with that information. basically, i think providing knowledge about everything depends on the person's maturity, emotional and mental stability, and trustworthiness. another group of people who u might want to limit certain types of information are uncontrolled schizophrenic people...they just won't process the information properly and may act out violently. also another reason that some people would restrict knowledge is to have other people behave a certain way...it could be for simple things like a chef won't release his secret recipe so that no one can reproduce his famous dish and he can continue making a lot money from it.

No. Knowledge is just facts.. they in themselves have no life. It is how the human perceives them and uses them which gives them good intentions or evil intentions.

Nuclear technology is a good example. You can either use it to power generators and give people electricity and other utilities they need to make life more comfortable or you could put in it a war head and wipe out half the earth.

Knowledge is always useful, provided it's truthful, and the search for truth naturally encourages acquisition of still further knowledge and the asking of even more questions, in an unending quest for truth.

No...That would be a form of censorship. I believe that we have a right to seek out knowledge in everything. This is why we are curious by nature. I think it helps us to evolve, to transcend.

yes
i don't like the laboratory studies with genes
that is OK as long as they are studying to help sicknesses
but who knows what else they are trying to do like all kind of mutants in human species
and i don't think we do need that
and if there was not nuclear bomb to kill each other ,that would be much better
i think all the science it must do is to help people not to destroy the human kind

Yes, because I had to jerk-off to find out whether I would go blind. Why couldn't I just trust the priests?

Now, I'm blind.
knowledge is the DEVIL
