Can I use any picture on my own website?

On creating my own website can I use any pics on internet for my own use

ex:
-animated gifs, pics on photobucket
-Backgrounds, gifs, pics of ppl on google image

I dunno wanna publish my website and then get sued for using other ppls pics ya know...

i know how to do it, i just wanna know if its legal as far as using them on ur OWN website...

No. Any picture you find on someone else's page is copyrighted unless that person explicitly says that it's free for all to use.

You can follow the Wikipedia rules: if you use someone else's image, modify it to a lower resolution and add a link with the disclaimer: "if the owner of the copyright for this image wants it removed from my page, contact me."

Unless the source of your image states that the image is public domain and free to use as you wish, then you would be breaking the law to use the image. It doesn't matter if it's your website, my website, or anyone elses website - unless it's on the owner's website then it's not legal.

They are right most of the time when you start a web they do ask if you want to share Pict there are some that don't, but those you would not even be able to copy, what you can copy already has permission to be shared.

You need to look for public domain images or pay to licence copyrighted images.

yes. you can use it. make sure that you use royalty free pictures or photographs. or else there may arise a chance of filing a case on you for using their images.

also alot of hosts will delete your account if you use nudity
