I went to my first Lapdance/Stripping club last night whilst on holiday and a few of my female friends attacked it saying how crude and bad it was. Now from the impression I got, it was very sophistacted, well done, and in all honestly the men just sat and stared so they were more at the will of the women.
Everyone has their own views on this and I just wanted to know who believes what and why?

It's a living! You can't take em home so it doesn't matter to them or to the payer

It is degrading in the same way that being a prostitute is degrading. Yes, they make a lot of money but they are seen only as a sex object. Your body is a temple and should be treated as one. I used to know an "exotic dancer" and it is not so glamorous. Having strange people touch you or follow you home and stalk you is not good. It also affects a person's self-worth over the long term as they are known only for their body and not for really achieving anything. However, there is always a good paying audience for any kind of strip club or porn outlet. These kind of places also create an environment for crime in a neighborhood. So I don't see anything sophisticated about them. I live in Houston and there are many of these places, and they have had all sorts of problems with shootings, and other sexual crimes etc. when these places pop up in a neighborhood.

stripping is ok in ur own home with the ones u love and trust but when u do it for strangers then ur basically a hoe. a tramp. ur selling urself out. u dont believe in what u can become. plus u dont know what those other guys or people have like u do to ur partner or boyfriend. to me it is very degrating. a guy has to sink so low to find a piece of *** to go to a stripp club. no offence. just, most guys are deppressed when they go. like to a bar to drink except to a stripp club to have a bonner and look at girls naked. do it in ur bedroom god! why do u think they made porn!

They salaries of strippers are very high. They are allowed to be touched by men or women at the club. How is it degradation if you chose to do it as a profession?

it's empowerment. All they have to do is dance around to cheap music and take off their clothes, and men line up to through money at them. They've got us by the short ones. Literally and figuratively.
